LOS ANGELES—Heluna Health’s board of directors announced today that Carladenise Edwards, PhD, will serve as chair, and Nicole J. Macarchuk, JD, will serve as vice chair for the 2026 fiscal year.
“This is an exciting moment of transition for our organization,” said Blayne Cutler, MD, PhD, president and CEO of Heluna Health, a national nonprofit leader in public health. “With the experience that Carladenise and Nicole bring to the table, I’m confident that Heluna Health will continue to thrive in the years ahead, making a lasting impact on the communities we serve.”
Edwards has 30 years of professional experience in academia, government, healthcare and technology. She currently serves as Miami-Dade County’s chief administrative officer. She previously served for 12 years as an executive in nonprofit healthcare. Serving on the boards or as a strategic adviser for numerous organizations, Edwards was recognized in 2022 by Modern Healthcare and Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the top women leaders in healthcare. Edwards received both her BA and MSEd from the University of Pennsylvania and her PhD from the University of Florida.
“After serving on the board of Heluna Health for the past eight years, I am thrilled to serve the organization and community as board chair,” Edwards said. “Leading a nonprofit that remains committed to serving the most vulnerable in our community during these turbulent times requires a team of dedicated, calm, insightful and experienced individuals. Heluna Health’s board and management team have all of the above. I am looking forward to working with this exceptional group of community advocates.”
Macarchuk is the senior vice president, deputy general counsel and head of Asset Management Legal at Fidelity. With more than three decades of legal counsel leadership, Macarchuk has advised a wide range of financial and business organizations, including private equity firms and corporate enterprises. She received a BA in economics from Fordham University and a JD, cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law.
“It is a privilege to serve as vice chair at this important moment for Heluna Health,” Macarchuk said. “My professional experience has shown me the importance of innovation, fiduciary responsibilities, prudent risk management and strong governance, and I am eager to help guide the organization as we expand our reach and drive positive change in the communities we serve.”
