Christine Sow, PhD, MPH, MA

President and Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Christine Sow is a dynamic, impact-driven executive with over 25 years of experience leading nonprofit and global health organizations through growth, turnaround, and transformation. Dr. Sow previously served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Humentum, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Population Services International (PSI), and President and Executive Director of  Global Health Council, overseeing hundreds of millions of dollars in complex, multi-source funding portfolios, and large-scale global operations. Her experience also includes senior leadership roles with Plan International USA, UNICEF, USAID, The Palladium Group, and Family Health International, where she partnered closely with governments, funders, and multilateral institutions to advance health systems strengthening, maternal and child health, and infectious disease initiatives. Dr. Sow is recognized for building trusted relationships, navigating compliance and procurement, and fostering coalition-based, community-centered solutions that drive financial sustainability and measurable impact. Trained as a public health scientist, she brings deep operational rigor and thought leadership to every role and is a frequent public voice on health equity, philanthropy, and community-led development. Dr. Sow holds a PhD in Social Epidemiology from Tulane University, an MPH and MA from the University of Michigan, and a BA in Africana Studies from Vassar College, along with advanced training in global health policy, organizational strategy, and executive operations.
