Carlo Giovanni

Chief People & Culture Officer

Carlo Giovanni brings nearly two decades of executive human resources leadership to Heluna Health, with deep expertise in building and modernizing people functions for large, mission-driven, field-based organizations. He most recently served as Chief People Officer at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, leading the full people function, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, DEI, and HR systems.

Earlier in his career, Carlo led people strategy at American Public Media Group (NPR – LAist), served as Executive Director of Human Resources at Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), and spent a decade in progressively senior HR leadership roles at UCLA, including the School of Law, the David Geffen School of Medicine, and UCLA Health System. He is a passionate advocate for evolving traditional Human Resources into People & Culture, pairing genuine listening and trust-building with the operational rigor to deliver programs at scale.

Carlo holds an MBA from Mount Saint Mary’s University, an MPA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a BA in Political Science from UCLA, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
