Associate Research Scientist Lead
Dr. Bibiana Martinez is a health behavior researcher exploring how health behaviors, attitudes and outcomes are associated with extreme heat. She obtained her doctoral training from the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine, where she used her expertise in geographic information systems to explore disparities in cancer prevention. She has previously worked with asylum seekers, Promotoras de Salud, and within the field of health services research in Los Angeles’ largest healthcare delivery institutions, including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Kaiser Permanente, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Martinez received a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University’s Mailman School in Public Health, and has an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the University of Florida. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors around Southern California, SCUBA diving, and reading fiction.
